We have a counselor who specializes in chronic pain/illness and one that specializes in caregivers/family of those with pain/illness. Both counselors have PERSONAL experience in their specialties which leads to a deep sense of empathy and understanding. We personally and professionally understand your unique struggles are here to support everyone in the chronic pain/illness community!
Jennifer Sutton is a North Carolina native who grew up in the small community of Pittsboro. She has been part of the chronic pain community for over a decade and has first hand experience with the physical and emotional struggles that comes with pain. She found her passion for working with people who suffer from chronic pain and illness when she discovered how isolating pain can be and the lack of resources available for those who struggle. Jennifer is an LPCA (Licensed Professional Counselor Associate) in the state of North Carolina as well as a National Certified Counselor.
Michele is part of the chronic pain community as a caregiver of an individual dealing with chronic pain. As a unique part of the community she counsels from a place of deep caring, empathy and understanding. She is excited to be offering individual, couples and family counseling sessions for people of all ages in the chronic pain and illness community.
Michele is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate experienced in working with children, adolescents, teens, adults, couples, and families to overcome issues that are creating distress. Her counseling style is collaborative and compassionate, empowering you to create a more balanced and satisfying life. She offers a safe place to share feelings, discuss problems, build emotional strength and resiliency, and gain some perspective on the issue at hand. Her daily practice utilizes multiple treatment modalities based upon your individual needs, personality, and background.
Ali Banks is joining us as a graduate level intern from the UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health Master's in Leadership. Ali will be helping us with community outreach, marketing and will also be starting a Chronic Hope podcast called Chronically Connected. Be on the lookout for this podcast which will be out soon!
